About us
The Dresdner Zimmer
The Dresdner Zimmer is a community of makers committed to preserving and promoting the culture of craftsmanship. The initiative showcases high-quality, locally made furniture and interior design, increasing their visibility on regional, national, and international levels.
Many small and medium-sized workshops have great potential but often lack the resources to present their work effectively. In response, a group of dedicated businesses joined forces to create a shared platform for communication, collaboration, and visibility—allowing them to reach wider audiences and create a stronger collective presence.
Today, the initiative brings together a core group of seven members, ranging from design-oriented craftspeople and artisans to restoration specialists and interdisciplinary design companies. This network is complemented by additional partners and supporters who contribute to its continued development.
A key focus lies on strengthening local value chains and promoting sustainable practices. Products should not only bear the names of local companies but also be genuinely made in the region. Shared values include a strong commitment to quality, material awareness, and a design-driven approach to craftsmanship—often expressed through carefully executed, handmade production.
Since summer 2023, the group has been sharing its mission through exhibitions, pop-up formats, trade fair appearances, and interactive events. These formats not only present finished works but also offer insights into processes and techniques, fostering a deeper connection between makers and audiences.
The initiative is curated and coordinated by the design studio StephanPartner, which organizes presentations and manages communication on behalf of the group.

Anja Tomaschewski Painting & Restoration Studio
Founded in 1999, Anja Tomaschewski Painting & Restoration Studio specializes in restoring historic wall paintings while creating unique interiors. With a team of twelve, it combines traditional craftsmanship with modern materials, using gold, wood, and stucco to shape spaces with character. Handcrafted, movable objects enhance living experiences and give each room a distinct identity.

Established in 2010 on the outskirts of Dresden, heinzmoebl handcrafts high-quality chairs, tables, and timeless furniture. Building on Saxony’s long tradition of chairmaking, the workshop blends classical handcraft with modern production methods. It serves private and commercial clients, architects, and designers across Germany, offering furniture that combines durability, elegance, and contemporary design.
Amanda Bartak
Freelance designer and artist Amanda Bartak creates minimalist ceramics exploring light, shadow, and the natural purity of clay. Each piece is handcrafted with careful attention to texture and form, giving it a unique personality. Inspired by nature, her work reflects a patient, meditative approach, balancing elegance, subtlety, and quiet strength in every object.

Weaving tradition and innovation, the Seidenmanufaktur eschke & Cammann Gobelin Manufaktur produces custom-made fabrics and textiles with precision and elegance. Recently, the portfolio has expanded to include luminaires for commercial interiors and private homes, combining technical precision with elegant, versatile design.
